  • AC is so hard hitting @ChrissK I have a plan in place with my oncologist now to get through the last few without delay!
  • ccasper I was delayed for nearly a month cause after my 1st AC which was around this time last year I ended up with 0 neutrophils and temperature and tonsillitis, so when it was time to go and do my 2nd AC bloods showed 0 neutrophils so off to hospital I went and got out xmas day, the next round of 2nd AC didn't happen till 6/1/16.
  • I will do! @melclarity I don't think they recovered completely after AC either!
  • Carly, that sounds like a plan! Yes I do know some women do have their chemo doses reassessed and lessened, so this could be your case. its just luck of the draw, sounds like you are in good hands! so just keep communicating, yes let us know how your bloods go today! Big hugs! Melinda xo
  • Thanks @melclarity I shouldn't complain too much as I haven't experienced many other side effects apart from the neutrophils. I guess it's the main way my body responds to chemo. My onc is reviewing my bloods today and maybe review my doses to get me through to the end. Or give me the neupogen. Not sure yet. Will keep you updated. Xxx
  • Hey Carly!

Oh gosh!!! So sorry this is happening! I didn't come across this for myself through Chemo, however I know many that did. It is so incredibly common and I remember my Oncology Nurse saying as we discussed it one day, that there is nothing you can do to help it along at all. It is frustrating interfering with treatment, but your body will right itself. Then treatment will continue. Just remember day at a time, you're doing so well! Hoping it rights itself quickly so you can get back on treatment and get it finished! Big hugs xoxo Melinda
  • Ah thanks so much cath I did have a look. Thanks for all your encouragement and kind words @socoda xx
  • Hi Carly, I have just entered low neutrophils into the search bar and have seen a few threads where ladies were hospitalised due to low neutrophils and the related delays while their neutrophil levels increased. The neupogen injections are supposed to help and hopefully will help your stubborn little neutrophils increase with a bit of speed!! Hopefully this will be the last delay for you so you can get on with your treatment and continue the countdown!! Fingers, toes and eyes crossed!! Xx Cath
