Tomorow is round 1 with chemo

Tomorow is almost here and my fear has gone up to 1000%. I had 250ml drained out of my seroma today then had an echocardiogram ready for Tomorow. I know the sooner chemo starts the sooner it finishes, but I just feel sick in my tummy of the unknown. I just want to cry. I've picked myself up the last few weeks, now I think I've gone back 10 steps :-(

  • Hi Jodie,

As I read your post, I am really feeling for you.  You will be ok.  I remember well my first infusion,  I felt as you are feellng....I walked in holding my hubbys hand, I think I almost cut off his circulation.  My philosopy was, expect the worst, and just see what happens.   Well, what happened was, I had the FEC infusion, I felt fine, and even went out for lunch afterwards.  The dex kept me wired for a couple of days, no nausea.  I had prepared in advance my "chemo kit".  It had everything known to man that I thought I might need. To my surprise I did not need  most of the goodies in it.  I took my nausea meds as directed,  I did drink lots of ginger beer, and looked after my mouth.  I was really surprised that it was not as bad as I had expeced.  6 days after my first chemo, I flew to Melbourne for the tennis.  I will be thinking of you tomorrow, and hope it all goes well for you.
