Tnbc

Hi, I am 33 years old mother of 2 gorgeous boys ( 3 and 6) I was diagnosed in March with tnbc and a week after diagnosis I started neoadjuvent chemotherapy (4 Fec 100 and 4 taxol) I had lumpectomy on Monday and now waiting for the pathology report. I am seeing my surgeon tomorrow but I have a feeling it is not gonna be good. I am scared to death... Did anyone else had neoadjuvent chemotherapy? If yes did u have complete pathologic response.

    My sister was diagnosed (stage 1 grade 3) April 2012. She now has a  reccurance and will be having a double Mx. I am the nerdy one who always researches everything! There are women whp have been diagnosed with TNBC for over 20 years! Great you are getting another opinion - there seems to be a wide range of responses to this disease by oncologists. Some peope are now placed on long term chemo and are coping 5+ years out. Stay positive for your boys - you can beat this!!

    Hi Ange I am so happy for you and hope this is the first step for a better future... I got pathology report and it was a mess my tumour was 7cm and initially was 3cm i had lymph nodes involvement and they found a recurrence in the same breast so i had to go back for mastectomy and i saw my oncologist yesterday and she gave me no hope. She basically gave me 3 options: 1) do nothing 2) get another opinion 3) do pet scan to see if metastasis has started or not yet... I am still waiting to get an appointment with another oncologist and waiting for an appointment for pet/ct scan .... I am so shattered and worried about my 2 little boys Wish u all the best xx

    Thank you SueVR for the reply... I have to do 25 radiation in a month time... did the lumps shrinks after chemo or were they still the same??? How long ago was that? Thx Wish u all the best

    Hi - I too had tnbc and neoadjuvent chemotherapy.  I had mulitfocal BC with 9 tumors ranging from 5cm to 2cm.  When I had my mastectomy I had a complete patholigical response,  I had 12 x weekly taxol followed by 4 fortnightly EC.  I then had 25 radiation after the surgery just to be thorough.  Good luck for tomorrow.  Sue
