Third time lucky

Didn't hear what I wanted to hear. After second surgery to get clear margins results came back as dcis not clear margins.going in for more surgery .this time a mastectomy of right breast. Third surgery within a few months so sure hope my body can cope. Felt really good this time after second excision so thought I was on the right track .but no. time to prepare again.having good days and bad days but trying to always see the positive. Walks in the fresh air and our widlife visitors keep me happy.

  • The body is an amazing machine and it copes with a hell of a lot!

having the surgery will be beneficial to you in the long run and clear all those margins. You have got this far, another small hurdle to complete. Well done!

we'll be thinking of you on the 12th.

    Linda xx

  • Thanks for those kind words.no time to think is good sometimes. Great words yep on with the next chapter and yes I will feel good. Smiled because bugger is a old fashion word that I do use . Can use worse also.???? You take care also. X

  • Thanks rowdy. Gee that was a lot of surgery. Sorry to hear that. It is amazing what we cope with as I am only two weeks from last op and if all this other wasn't happening I would be feeling quite okay.positive thoughts have to prevail. X

  • Hi Kath yes it will be a relief when surgery over.august 12th is the day. Wish it was over but know what it entails so not so fearful now. Just anxious.x

  • Forgot to add....you'll be surprised what your body can handle! It's keeping your mind calm that takes some energy.....you'll bounce back in no time!

  • Bugger!

But I'm sure you used better words!

I understand what you mean about not having a break....my regime has been full steam ahead with no time to recover fully in between from any one treatment! I'm thankful I get a weeks break in until my next fill!

You will feel good once this surgery is over too.....just another chapter in the book of breast cancer.....read it and then turn the page.....

Enjoy your fresh air and wildlife walks....i love to be near the water, it clears my mind.....and it's good to have company too, keeps your focus on something else....

Wishing you all the best.......breathe and take care....

    xx

  • Hi this happened to me I had 7 surgeries in 12 months, the poor body struggled but I got there. Last month I had to have surgery on my knee, it was a very stressful time as all the memories of previous surgeries came back. I keep trying to look forward and keep positive. Good luck with your surgery xxx

  • Oh how distessing. No wonder you are feeling your heads in a spin. I believe it will be a relief to have the mastectomy and finally clear margins. Have you a surgery date yet? Kath x
