The Week Following Chemo
Well it's been 1 week since my first chemo and I've had a crap week up one day, down the next. Not sleeping properly, I'm on edge waiting for the next really bad day I hate feeling like this. I can be having a fantastic morning but then by lunchtime I can be that buggered that I have to spend most of the afternoon in bed. Last thursday was one such day, it started out as one of the best days I've had in a long time and 2 of my girlfriends came over for a visit and even they said that I looked really good for 2 days after my chemo but by about 1pm I felt that bad and my temp went up to 37.4 and I collapsed and Karl called an ambulance I spent the next few hours at hospital getting lots of tests down to find out why I had collapsed one dr tried to say that I only fainted, another said that I had some sort of seizure as I also had memory loss from the time I collapsed to when the ambos got there. Now I have an appointment to have an EEG done to find out if it was a seizure. Worst part of that stay in hospital was that they kept me in till the following afternoon for obs but the ward (7b) they put me was disgusting in my room the bathroom looked like it belonged in old caravan park and I had to ask for toilet paper!!! Then there was the windows wow, I thought opening the curtains for some nice warm sunlight was a good thing but the window frame was covered in mould and they had the audacity to swab my nose and groin when I was taken to the ward to make sure I was bringing any bugs onto the ward, there's a reason why people get sicker while staying in hospital. I know they are waiting for the new Gold Coast hospital to open but come on people you still have to keep the old one clean while it still being used, and clean bathroom and windows is basic cleaning people. I told Karl if I have to got to hospital in an abulance again I'm going to Robina.
Anyway I will let you know the results of my EEG next week, Thinking of all you wonderful ladies sending good and happy thoughts XX
