I’m up to 7/12 tomorow. I’m having weekly taxol and weekly carboplatin though so maybe a little different. Its different to ac - I think it’s easier interns of fatigue but there is more side effects that add to this one. Nose bleeds daily, mouth fungal infection, constipation, peeling feet, neuropathy in hands. I had magnesium levels drop. But it’s doable. treabt day is the worst for me as im emotional from the dex and tired but can’t sleep!
I had neuropathy but also discoloured and separating nails (not from my fingers or toes but the nail layers started to separate - just lovely!). My toenails also turned black, brown, grey and chalk white. I reckon it took a long time to get it all grown out, way past the end of treatment, sorry! Quite harmless if a bit ugly - not great for sandals, but painless.
I know! And I'm losing eyelashes again for the 3rd time! I'm still on Herceptin infusions ( only 1 to go woo hoo) so that may be the cause of the spitting nails as they were great during and after chemo , it's just in the last 2 months they've started to split
@poodlejules
Despite using Iced gloved during chemo, your nails are splitting? That too after completion of entire Taxol regimen !! For how long the side effects continue after the treatment? I thought they will disappear soon after completion of treatment and we will on recovery path !!
Good luck @Spiv1803 ! Hope it all goes well today! I had 12 weeks of Taxol too and found it pretty heavy going about day 3 after the dose then about week 7 I stopped exercising regularly and turned to Netflix but it was the middle of winter and I was staying inside a lot :) I iced my hands and feet too during chemo to avoid neuropathy, if you have the option, try it if you can. My nails are splittng now but I have no tingling or numbness. xox
HI. I had 12 x weekly Taxol. Only problem was light sensitivity and a skin rash which is not normal and I have weird skin to begin with.. Apart from that no issues, no nausea, no fatigue. t's a lot easier than the AC I found. All the best. XOXO
