I was meant to have taxol and carboplatin for cycles 5-8 but as I had previous issues with nerve damage they used taxotere and carboplatin to reduce risk of peripheral neuropathy. I had an extremely bad reaction to that combo and extreme peripheral neuropathy (I have another complicating disability that also causes some nerve issues) and we discussed not continuing at all but instead for cycles 6-8 I had carboplatin on it's own. so make sure that you discuss any side effects with your treatment team because there is always other options. Because of issues with neutropenia I also had neulasta with each cycle, that gave me bone pain for a couple of days but having a claratyne helped. not pleasant at the time but very doable and was much better than I had expected. Nuelasta caused bone pain but was only for 3 days and it really helped keep my bloods good and I didn't get neuotropenic at all - didn't even get a cold while doing chemo.
