Tamoxifen

Well,I am starting my 2nd week on Tamoxifen, and so far so good.I have noticed absolutely no change in how I feel.:). Do any of you ladies on this drug have side effects,or do they start later? I am hoping that I won't have any!I have stepped up my exercise also,in the hope that this will help.Next week I am doing two courses here in Sydney. One about exercise and fitness after treatment, and the other on nutrition and diet after treatment.I will let you know what I learn.Cheers everyone.xoxo Robyn

  • Yes,we have so much to be thankful for.I remind myself of that every day Jen .xox
  • Lucky or guilty Robyn? Have had that sense of feeling too because I haven't had too many problems with side effects etc (apart from my round 2 issues).....but, fab to be over the chemo stage hey....and onto next stage to finish off! Chemo induced menopause for me so will see what happens....I guess this blip we've had to deal with will enable us to overcome anything....! And so much to be thankful for.....X

  • We must be online at the same time today.Yep,I am feeling pretty good, and do you know what, sometimes I feel a bit guilty about this.Does that make sense? All the best for when you start taking it.xoxo Robyn
  • Thanks for your feedback I am starting to think that Tamoxifen is not going to be too bad:) I have been post menopausal for 6 years, but my oncologist thinks this is the way to go ,at least for 2or 3 years,so as to avoid the bone problems with Aromatase inhibitors. Thanks again, and good luck with things this year.xoxo Robyn

  • Sorry meant to say all the best Robyn with your continued health. I have also done a course thru the Mater Hospital in sydney in regards to exercise and nutrition etc. and will be joining Dragons Abreast after my next surgery in March. Cheers Fiona
  • Hi Robyn I was diagnosed with EBC in April 2013, IDC's in both breasts so had bilateral mastectomy in May (skin sparing with tissue expanders). I did 6 months of chemo which I finished in mid November and started on tamoxifen on New Year's Day so I am 2 weeks in and so far have no side effects and chemo put me into menopause. I was able to continue working thru treatment and exercising as well. I now walk 8kms a day and feel that this is helping me physically and mentally.
