Tamoxifen side effects

I am one of the fortunate ones as I have only Tamoxifen to deal with.  Things have improved for moment so I assume your body adjusts, just takes some time.  Thanks for responding.  Its taken me this long to figure out how to work my computer.

Yes, the pain has all but disappeared.  Weird though.  The first month on the drug I couldn't quench my thirst and had dreadful taste in my mouth but this disappeared after about a month.  I suppose different side effects will come and go over the next 4 years or so.

I was prescribed Femara at first, but had awful pains in my wrist, hip and fingers joints.  Apparently this is a side effect of this drug.

Was then prescribed Tamoxifen, (miraculously pains went away!).  Only took this drug for a couple of months, without any side effects to speak of, then was taken off this also, whilst I undergo oral chemo.

Discuss your pain with your onco, as there are other drugs available if this one doesnt suit you.

Tamoxifen initially made my ankle pain worse(previous broken bone injury).

But it didn't wake me up at night -although the hot flushes do! My onc said it could cause joint or injury pains when starting.It seems ok now though. It's probably best to get it checked. You are probably in medical test overload like me.I don't even want to go to the dentist or the optomotrist.

We all experience aches and pains from different medication.  But different drugs do effect everyone differently.  It does sound a little extreme that your pain would wake you at night so if it persists I would suggest you see your Doctor and get some peace of mind.

It may just turn out to be nothing, or just a side effect from drugs but it is best to get it checked out.
