Hi Kathie, I have d been taking Tamoxifen for almost 4 years, I had some bleeding, my GP sent me to a Gyno, this all happened within two days. He did a transvaginal ultrasound and a polyp was found.
Plans were then made to have a hysteroscope and resection. Pathology came back polyp not cancerous (larger than first thought) but I have Simple and Complex Hyperplasia (at this point don:t know if it is Typical or Atypical which has a greater impact.
As I am ER+ and PR+ (95 -100%) I cannot have Progesterone which can be given to reverse this, My Gyno said "If you were my wife you would be having a Hysterectomy" that was good enough for me, I had already decided that I could not continue to live like this, continually worried about what might be happening in my body. He said having a hysterectomy would be the same treatment for Simple and Complex Atypical Hyperplasia.
So in less than two weeks I am having a Hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo oopherectomy and all will be sent to pathology. So the waiting goes on,
From there decisions will be made as to what happens next.During all this I am still taking Tamoxifen.
Don't know if this helps in any way or causes more concern.
Regards Michelle
