Sweating alot

Hey @Cynth6 I break into sweats frequently, any weather. I still get horrid hot flushes, though, which started during chemo and have increased with tamoxifen and palbociclib. My skin also flushes red, so, yeah, embarassing! Strangely, I don't sweat from my right armpit since my mastectomy and node clearance, but profusely from the left (healthy) armpit, as well as everywhere else. I imagine your sweats are hormonal... milder hot flushes. Hope it settles soon.

Hi there love. I hardly get hot flushes anymore either but do get sweaty from time to time or just feel hot without the “hot flush” symptoms. At night I have to have the aircon on and sleep with no covers pretty much all night just the doona between my legs up to my chest but at the very least I have to have my back exposed and uncovered and only undies to bed. During the day at work the air con is on in the treatment room and it’s super cold which I love and just don’t feel cold hardly ever these days.  Margie xx

I found chemo elevated my all round body temperature, so much so that I was happy all through winter standing stark naked in the bathroom, window open, we don't have a heater, slathering on cream all over my body. Normally I would leap shivering from a very hot shower and towel quickly before dressing in very warm jammies. It took a good 6 months for me to start to feel remotely cool enough for a jacket at times. 
I have also found that I now sweat through my head, which I never noticed doing before, hot flushes are pretty bad, especially if I get hot or stressed, and I get a hot sweaty prickly head.
I am also on medication that has always restricted my sweating, but now I feel it running down my back. 
I am finding I have to get to know a whole new me post treatment.

my scalp & face break out in a sweat now from just doing the basic of things, but i'm 3/4 of my way through radiation, so blamed it on that

Hi @Cynth6, I didn't have chemo but am on Tamoxifen. Initially mega hot flushes and sweating that died down for a while but have now shifted into menopause and the sweats and hot flushes are back with a vengeance. I carry an atomiser to spray myself with to try and stop the flush and pouring sweat and my younger sister bought me a hand held battery operated fan that has a water reservoir so I get both the fan and misting spray. Gotta say that fan is gorgeous and very effective. Would fit into a large handbag and the water reservoir is large - you could even keep it in the fridge for an extra chill!! Hi Uncorkiness, Mind if i ask what medicatio  you took to control excessive sweating?  even though I didn't have treatment for hormone suppressors.  I had already gone through menopause pre chemo but Oncologist told me that the chemo in general would destroy ability of ovaries to make oestrogen ( after menopause ovaries still produce a little )  This was not really a problem in the beginning but I have now gone back to work and is embarrassing.

I got serious hot flushes after round three of chemo.  Up to 20 a day, hot prickles, nausea, heart palpitations, you name it.  Putting on makeup to go to work at 5;30 am and I was sweating.  Bloody awful.   I keep one of those tiny fans on my desk at work that I can just flick on and off as needed.  I am now 7 months finished chemo and on Tamoxifen for three months.The sweating is pretty much gone except sometimes at night and the flushes have backed off to a couple a day so hopefully it starts to calm down a bit for you soon.

My hot flushes have subsided too but like @Unicornkisses I seem to sweat from my head. It doesn't help that I live in the tropics. One minute I'm fine, next I have sweat dripping off my head and my hair has only just started to re grow. Maybe the tamoxifen or just a strange version of hot flushes?

@Payne regrettably I have not used anything to control the sweating. I am still suffering.
The medication that inhibited the sweating is a bladder control medication for Urge Incontinence, Oxybutynin. It not only inhibits sweating but causes overheating and very dry mouth, eyes and other orifices. I am currently using a patch which is better, I cannot use the tablets because of the horrid side effects. I have tried many of the other bladder control tablets and they all have the same effect for me.
It doesn't seem to inhibit the sweating like it did, now that I am on the AI and Palbociclib. 

Thanks for that Unicornkisses.  The oncologist said I could take hormone replacement medication but advised only if it was severe.  My cancer is not hormone positive but don't like to take any further chances.  I also think I may have urge incontinence too so that is something Ill have to address soon.
