I am having my surgery next Friday where they will remove the tumor with a wire incision. Feeling very very nervous and scared too. The day before I will have the sentinol node biospy to determine which lymph nodes to examine and the morning of the surgery I will be having the wire incision. All sounds so strange but trying very hard to stay strong and positive. Has been a very emotional couple of weeks since my diagnosis and just keep praying that all will be ok. Would love to hear from anyone that has had similar procedure.

Try not to worry to much...I was very scared as well...I just thought of it as one of the many hurdles we all have to jump, some are small & the others high & you will get through this... That's what I kept telling myself.... I had same surgery as you & 2 wire incisions I had 2 grade 2 tumours.. So here's what they did..they gave me a local anaesthetic & they explained that I would feel a little bit of pain when they hook the wire into the tumour, it doesn't hurt until they reach the tumour, the first one hurt a little bit & the second one took him ages to hook through, he said this tumour was stubborn & had calcified, so that's why it took a couple of goes to hook,which did hurt a bit more than the first one.. Then they tape the wires to your chest to stop them from swinging around. I then went of for the nuclear dye medicine for the lymph nodes & then waited in a room for my surgery.. My surgery went really well, my surgeon got clear margins around the two tumours & my scar is really neat I had 30 rounds of radiation & finished in February & I am now recovering from a hysterectomy & about to start on tamoxifen...I hope this helps you out .... I have had a few hurdles on this journey & I am happy to have got this far...I have also learnt so much from just coming onto this net work...the ladies are really lovely so many stories & lots information... Thank You Christine. It is hard not to worry but reading and hearing stories from brave women like yourself who have been through this tough journey does help heaps. I have my moments but 95% of the time I am good. Just doing everything as normal leading upto surgery. Afterwards is a mystery so I try not to think too much about it. I guess you learn to have the mentality that whatever you are faced with you accept and deal with it accordingly. There's always someone somewhere dealing with worse circumstances, may it be health or otherwise. I believe in faith and praying has really helped me a great deal. It's a form of meditation which is very soothing and comforting at the same time. No matter who you talk to and get support from, no one ever truly understands your emotions and feelings even if you have been through the same journey. Everyone is unique and handles stress and anxiety differently. What works for one doesn't necessarily work for others. You have to be your own mentor and teacher. I know one thing for sure that God gives the strength and courage to deal with anything. Wishing you all the best with the rest of your journey. Good to hear that you are coping ok mentality. I remember in the early days I was a mess. I could not even have the courage to read any of the medical reports as though not reading them would make it go away. Try not to think too far ahead and focus on getting better. I've tried to be positive and not miserable and I think they think that I don't need anyone. I have my wonderful husband and children but I am alone a lot thinking. Hi Poll, Sorry to hear about your story, hopefully all will go well for you tomorrow. Totally understand the lonely feeling. No matter what people say or even if they come to see you they never can understand your emotions. Everyone's tolerance and strength is unique and handled differently. Just have to motivate yourself by thinking positively that all is going to be ok --- i am going to beat this!!! Praying helps a lot too. Good luck and keep us posted on how u go. No one other than us who are going through this can truly understand each others feelings and emotions. Sending you get well wishes and hugs Xxxx

Thank you for your lovely wishes.... I kept busy as well , I worked right up until my surgery date, all the girls at work, they were really good to me, they even made me come to the awards nite, I'm glad I did work other wise I would of been a nut case... Iv even inspired a few girls to have mammograms...so I feel good about that... You will be ok once you know what your treatment plan is & with faith all things are possible:) saying a little prayer for you next Friday... Take care:) Christine :) xox

Just try not to think too far ahead and concentrate on get well with the next step.

Sorry to hear you are lonely, I know what you mean when you say you've been positive and people probably don't think you need anyone. I always tried to stay upbeat for my family and they always remarked how strong and brave I was. They never saw my meltdowns and my bad days. I think sometimes people don't know what to say, but all we need sometimes is a hug and a shoulder to rest on. Try reaching out and I'm sure people will respond.
