Starting letrozole tomorrow

@Halla well, I had shots in my wrists the same time I switched. So it def helped, but it was the shots. I switched to Exemestane, as I didn’t want to go onto Tamoxifen. But after about a month carpal tunnel symptoms started again slowly. Other things were better though. Not as much joint pain. I stayed on that for 3 months also, and recently switched again to Arimidex. So far feeling similar. They’re the only 3 available that I like, so I will decide which one after a couple months. But Letrozole is off the table as it gave me most pain.

It took about a month for side effects to start for me. About two months for carpal tunnel. After three months I switched. Carpal tunnel was the worst side effect. Hot flushes weren’t too bad

I have found taking at night better for me.

Ladies - those who are on letrozole with side effects, how long did it take for the side effects to start? And do you prefer to take in the morning or at night?

Hi I have been on Femara since the beginning of January. Apart from a bit of hot  flushing which now seems to have settled down , so far so good.
I am 62.
I did have a bone density scan and had osteopenia  so am now taking ( yet another) drug for that.
I have heard that some ladies have issues with certain brands and also that if they move from Letrazole to one of the other Aromatose Inhibitors they suffer less side effects.
Good luck and it’s important to let your oncologist know if you do get side effects .

I've been on letrolze for 6 weeks.  I opted for the femerea brand.   So far all seems to be going ok.  Already had a few joint issues so not sure of this has changed.  Wake up with hot sweats.
