Hi ladies,

I'm a little anxious about Monday it's like starting chemo all over again even though I'm halfway now 12 weeks of weekly chemo on Paclitaxel is a little scary but I have heard it is easier on the side effects I spoke to one of my chemo nurses today and she told me there are different side effects but they will explain everything on Monday I am going into my chemo on Monday with a positive attitude as I have got this far I can do it and my cousin arrives from Sydney tonight can't wait to see her we'll have fun which will stop me thinking about Monday I hope everyone has a nice weekend I know I will sending a cuddle and a smile.

    Hi Alison,

Thanks for your post I'm hoping it's easier I have heard and read that weekly chemo is easier, 3 weekly chemo I think it is a lot harder, I'm glad my oncologist has decided on weekly chemo, right now I'm looking forward to seeing my cousin she's already got me laughing she's been texting me all day counting down the hours so she already has me laughing and she's not even here yet, we're going to have so much fun live for now not tomorrow, Sending you a cuddle and a smile.

  • Hi Anita.

I agree with Alison. Worrying achieves absolutely nothing so there is no point. No one has ever changed anything through worrying.

Keep positive and i am sure you will get through it one treatment at a time.

Stay strong my dear and i will be sending lots of positive thoughts your way. ????

  • Hi Anita,

I had 6 weeks of Paclitaxel after a horror dose of Docetaxel. That was 18 months ago and I have to tell you that, for me, it was a good deal easier than the previous 3 rounds of FEC and infinitely better than the Docetaxel which was a nightmare. In some ways, having it weekly is better - you just get on the treadmill and step one foot in front of the other. When it is 3 -weekly, you get some respite which sometimes makes the next treatment worse! Anyway, everyone is different and you may well just breeze through. Remember there is no right or wrong - just how it is for you and take your joy where you can. Cousins are wonderful - laugh and have a wonderful time this weekend because Monday will come around regardless and you cannot influence things by worrying! Take care and smile when you can!
