Eeeew @"Patti J" Not nice at all. Sounds a bit creepy.
I felt very uncomfortable on my initial u/sound. The sonogropher was a young man probably in his mid to late 20's. Not that he did anything inappropriate but it was a very long, very thorough examination that seemed to take an eternity. It probably wouldn't bother me these days but way back then it was a bit upsetting and just felt wrong. From then on I have generally had a nurse present for no particular reason, it's just been the norm. The only male doctor that has examined me from then on without a female present was my onc for the first couple of times but he always asked if it was ok and mostly the reason was that the nurses were so busy it would have been a bit of a waiting game until one was free.
