It takes a lot to piss me off but one thing I cannot abide is non professional standards and behaviour.
A cake in an MRI room is non professional. Save it for the tea room.
A recent experience of mine left me wondering about the attention to detail (or lack of) and therefore the accuracy of medical treatment / results.
I was recently waiting for a follow-up consultation with a physician for an ongoing health condition. I was originally told the physician would be back in town early November. Remember I am very remote so missing an appointment usually means waiting a while for the next one. So I waited and I waited and I waited with finally receiving an appointment letter for early December.
Why do I question the attention to detail?
The letter stated appointment was for 05 December at 1pm. Drove into town and arrived at the clinic at the appropriate time only to find the appointment letter should have stated 06 December at 1pm. No apology for any inconvenience. My comment about lack of attention to detail was met with much eye rolling.
Will I be checking and rechecking appointments in future. You betcha.
Write the letter. State that such behaviour is unprofessional and leads to you questioning the accuracy of any reports.
