Size does matter ...sometimes!

After everyone helped me out last week with my query about the size of the tumour affecting treatment ... thank you, thank you, thank you ... I'd thought I'd post a follow up.

Saw my radiation oncologist yesterday and asked the question. Does size matter? Well yes, especially if chemotherapy is involved, but not so with radiation, as the whole of the breast is radiated anyway. I am so lucky I have dodged the chemo bullet.

Anyway, I was supposed to have undergone my mapping for radiation, but turns out I now have an infection with a sore, swollen, red breast. Thought is was looking a bit odd the other day! Radiation has been put on hold until antibiotics clear up the infection, so ...  more waiting.

Oh joy!

Take care everyone.

  • Hi Tracey,

Thanks for that. What sucks even more is that the antibiotics don't seem to be doing their job .... or if they are, doing it very slowly. I'm now on my second round!

Due to give mapping another shot tomorrow, but don't know if I'll make it.

    Sigh!

    Hugs back to you,

That sucks San Dee, here's hoping that your infection goes soon and that you can get on with your treatment. Sending you a big cuddle, Trace ??????

  • Yes, seems like you get one moment of relief and then something else comes along to stuff up your day. If nothing else, this has certainly been ... and will continue to be ... one huge learning curve.

    Thanks for the support.

  • Thanks JDAKIC,

It's wonderful to have the support here!

    Hugs

  • Sorry to hear about the infection but glad you found the information you needed :)

Look after yourself so it clears quickly and all the best :)
