Silly Worry

Ok , so I've almost completed 6 months of Chemo treatment AC followed by Taxol. Heading for a quick escape to recharge before facing the next stages of treatment, Surgery and Radiation and here's me worrying about being on a plane with a port in my arm!
Can one of you lovely ladies please put my silly anxieties at ease and tell me that your arm didn't swell up on the plane and cause your port to explode from your skin! I am usually a pretty intelligent calm person, but here I am worrying about something that I know is really ridiculous but hey there it is.
  • Thanks @Cate64, I gathered if it was likely there would be warnings that's the logical part of brain kicking in. I just needed to hear it from someone who'd been there
  • Kat, I still have surgery too and already feel scared just knowing it's not to far away and wondering if lumpectomy will be an option. Somehow I think it may have to be mastectomy but will have to see. But yes the drains sound gross lol.
  • @Kat09 I have been on lots of flights & my port has not exploded... lol
  • Hi @LMK74, thanks I still have 2 more weeks of Taxol to go but can see the finish line now. I hope that you are doing much better on this 2nd hit of AC? My post is a little tongue in cheek and I hope that it makes people smile, of all the things we face it's funny how these weird fears creep into our normally sane heads. I'm sure I'll be posting weird fears about my drain after surgery, another thing causing me anxiousness. Do you have surgery to come also or are you past that hurdle?
    Kat xx
  • Hi Kat, sorry I can't help as don't have a port, but just wanted to say congratulations on finishing chemo. Enjoy your break and please tell us how surgery goes.
