Silly Worry

Oh yeah, @Kat09  I know how you feel. I kept imagining the cancer lurking in my breast, complete with a little 'face', playing hide and seek with the surgeon....what with that and the feeling that I'm going to glow in the dark after radiotherapy (I know I'm not going to, but it's my overactive imagination again)...well, yes, exploding ports, I see where you're coming from.  We can only laugh. :)

Hi @Zoffiel, it was a little tongue in cheek and the sane sensible part of brain knows that it's fine. I just laugh at how silly little things pop into our brains sometimes. 

The port won't explode. Neither will your 'foobs' if you end up with them in the end.

There's​ technical stuff you can look at, but if you are worried about the port, spare a thought for my friend who is going for his first flight with his new stoma.

If this stuff happened the airlines would-be all over it, they'd be making us pay three times the going rate to sit in sealed units in the cargo hold. If that's ever going to be a 'thing' and I'm going to be in a box with those likely to plaster the walls with body fluids,  I'm  a not going in with the stoma guy. ( Sorry, Gerry)

Cate64, sounds like way too much pain to get through lol. I'm am an absolute wuss when it comes to any sort of medical procedures. I admire all you ladies that have been through it. Think I'll just stuff some socks in my bra lol.

@Kat09 & @LMK74 i have had 2 mastectomies with immediate reconstructions, done 6 months apart, one was a DIEP Flap Recon (BC BReast) & the other was an S GAP Recon (Prophylactic) .... 

Now, they have had to make a couple adjustments to even them up but guess how they did it??? Fat Fill!! yep.... bonus, sucked fat outta my thighs & put it in my boobs.... WINNING!!!

Kat, definitely daunting but it is great we have so many ladies here that can help us through. I'm swaying more towards a mastectomy also as I don't want to go through this again. Also great you have your mum for support.

@Cate64, I'm glad I have you laughing!! My imagination is ridiculous at times. It would be like a scene out of Alien, we can both have a chuckle when we board our flights  :) 

It is all a bit daunting isn't it Lisa. Thankfully we have this site and the support and advice from the others to get us through. at this stage it also looks as though I will be having a Mastectomy and I feel that's probably the best option for me as I really don't want to go through this again. I don't have a date set for my surgery yet so there is plenty of time to look at options etc. My Mum had a mastectomy 20 years ago so I have great support in her. 

lol @Kat09 I must admit its not something I had thought of & I have been flying here there & everywhere with mine in my chest!!!!

Can you imagine if it did?? lol, I have to laugh, it'd be like a scene out of Alien :)

I'm sorry to laugh but you have put this vision into my head that now will not leave & I am flying off to Canberra again in a week....
