I am a bit the same,only in that I refuse to post ANYTHING on my Facebook page about my cancer, I don't want it out there on Facebook (Even though my page is private and as locked down as can be - Facebook is SO NOT secure).
I am happy for my neighbours and friends and family and strangers on the street to know, but Don't want it on Facebook - I know weird - not sure where that is coming from but that is how I feel <LOL>.
If you feel happy to do it one daythen you will and if you don't, you wont, don't stress it. It is YOUR right to tell or net tell, show or not show people the visual signs of your battle with cancer.
Especially in a small town. BUT... Trust me you wont be the talk of the town, I am sorry to say this, and wish it was otherwise, but cancer is quite common these days. Maybe people will just think you have decided to do a Sinead, after doing the purple <LOL>, and will just think you have some kind of weird hairstyling fetish <LOL>...
