Was interested reading about all the quirky little pre existing conditions so many people have.
I was diagnosed with MS ( multiple sclerosis) in 2004 after 12 years of odd things happening to my body after the birth of my second child. I also have rheumatoid arthritis. ... Both auto-immune diseases.
A year after my MS diagnosis I left my children for the very first time and with my ex husband I trekked the great wall of china for 2 weeks with The MS Society. I needed to show that bloody disease that it wasn't going to slow me down. It was truly a life changing experience though I was physically and mentally exhausted when I returned home. I'm beginning to plan a special something for when my treatment is over. I want to walk The Great Ocean Road with my kids to show them cancer isn't going to slow me down either. I will raise $$ for the cancer council as well as Mission Australia. I work for Mission and they have been an incredible support. I plan to walk for 4 days early next year.
I'm not sure why we are chosen as being the ones to be challenged by certain illnesses like bc but maybe it's to give us the opportunity to kick its arse and experience things we otherwise wouldn't.
