Should I have my ovaries removed?

Well mum & I went and saw the radiology oncologist yesterday.  He has said that I will need 6.5 weeks of radiology.  He has also suggested that I think about having my ovaries removed.  My partner and I had already come to a decision when I was pregnant last year that our baby boy was the last addition to our family, that we were both happy with the size of our family.  So the question of becoming infertile is not an issue.  I need to find out about early menopause though, as this will affect my decision to have my ovaries removed.  The oncologist was humming and haaing about it as I'm only 36.  FFS don't hum and haa at me due to my age when asking me if I want to do something, just explain the issues that surround it.  What does early menopause mean?  Why are you so concerned about me going into early menopause at my age?  I know these are questions I should have asked but I'm still trying to get my head around everything.
