Ditto for me. March 25 diagnosis of Invasive Ductal Carcinoma, Tumour Grade 3, positive in the nodes and ended up being 3cm big. I had two surgeries as one margin was not clear enough after the lumpectomy and happy to say the second time round the margin was all clear. I ended up having 10 lymph nodes removed and cells were present in 1 out of 10 so I celebrated :-)
I have one chemo treatment to go (this Friday) and have held up fairly well physically. Lots of different side effects but quite manageable most of the time. Struggled the most with the mood swings due to steriods (to control post-chemo nausea) and the general emotional rollercoaster of having to deal with all the physical stuff and the impact on every part of my life.
Sorry to hear about your diagnosis and this is hard part, waiting to see what treatment options you are offered. I chose to have a lumpectomy based on all the information I had from my surgeon though some women would have chosen a mastectomy in my situation. Hang in there, you will feel better once you know what surgery to expect and what happens after that. I have radiology to follow towards the end of September. If you have any questions, do feel free to ask. Keep us posted on how you are going and as lots have said before me, this forum is great when you are feeling down in the dumps or need to vent or whatever. Good luck to you xo
