Secondary Breast Cancer TNBC
Hi everyone,
I have had a bad week. I have had a croaky throat for about 4 weeks now and mentioned it to my Oncologist. She sent me for a CT scan. Turns out the throat is due to damage to the Larangeal Nerve by the Radiation and is probably going to stay for a while. Unfortunately the CT Scan revealed 10 lesions in my lungs. I had a core biopsy this week which will determine how fast the cells are growing which will determine the treatment. My original diagnosis was Nov last year so I am almost at the 1 year mark. I have been told I will have Chemo for the rest of my life, to try and control the growth of the cancer, and a prognosis of 2-5 years. I had no lymph node involvement so the cells must have travelled through my blood stream. My family is devastated and my middle son has moved in to look after me. It has been exhausting telling everyone and I am an emotional wreck. I had just started to plan my future again, now this! I am so sorry for my boys who will have no Mum and my baby grandsons who will not know me. It breaks my heart, cancer is a disgusting disease that breaks peoples hearts and robs us of our futures.
