Second time round?

Hi all, Just after some advice. It's now 14 months since my breast cancer diagnosis and double mastectomy and all seemed good until I had an ultrasound on my pelvis due to problems with my periods. The ultrasound has shown two abnormalities in my uterus, one 2.5cm and the other 1.2cm. One could be a fibroid but it's not clear and the other, well no idea. My gp is referring me to a gyno and recommended I be seen within 4 weeks and said to be prepared for it not being good. Has anyone had similar? Know anything about fibroids and/or cancer in the uterus and is it true that fibroids are normally easily detected and diagnosed on ultrasound? I just want to be prepared and do as much research as I can, given I was unlucky enough to get breast cancer this is now stressing me out big time :(

  • Hi Tina, good luck with your appointment tomorrow. Nothing is worse than the worry when you have to wait. Thank goodness you have an appointment tomorrow and not in 4 months time. Thinking of you and hoping you will have good news for us after your appointment. Love Chris xx
  • Firstly, so sorry you are having such a worrying time. I have had fibroids for years which usually show up very clearly with ultrasound. They are common in many women. Just hang in there. Even if they are not ok growths, there is a good chance they can be removed and no further intervention required. That said I suppose I would be freaking out as well. You will have dealt with the waiting game in the past so just dig in there and hopefully that appointment comes around quickly. Thinking of you Julie
