Chemo is so tough on our bodies. Young children pick up on little changes in the house, but remember this is temporary. Advice from earlier comments is excellent, to contact the cancer council and call on friends and family to help. Your husband sounds like he's doing a great job. My kids are a bit older, teenagers, and although a shock, have used the facilities of canteen, school counselors, mum hugs, and helpful friends to work through it. Toddlers are different and need hugs, I guess.
During my last chemo earlier this week, I found it helpful to speak to a psychologist as I found I was having many teary days, moments where I couldn't control those tears. She ensured me that the grieving process of my old normal is really a process. She gave me some cognitive strategies to use when facing conversations with people.
