Second diagnosis. Three years clear :)
Hi,
I saw my surgeon a couple of weeks ago for my 3 year check up. He suggested that as this was my second diagnosis after an initial diagnosis 18 months prior that had spread to one lymph node that we should repeat bone and cat scans. He assured me it was just routine. I was putting off making the appointment as it just made me nervous. Anyway realised I just had to do it in the end. I had the scans last Friday. Off course all weekend I was sure my bones were aching and there was surely a pain in my liver! However I was just being a nervous Nellie as I saw my GP today and it's official... No evidence of metastatic disease! Phew! So tonight after I look back to my first diagnosis 4 1/2 years ago with a 2.8cm triple negative tumor and then second diagnosis 3 years later with another aggressive triple negative tumor (3cm) I am saying a prayer of thanks and am quietly celebrating another year clear from this horrible disease. Yes there was definitely lots of happy dancing by me today :). Much love to you all, especially those recently diagnosed and going through treatment. Stay strong, visit this wonderful site when you need, there are so many lovely ladies on board to listen and help you.
Thanks to you all.
