  • Hi Vicki

It's a pretty anxious time when you wait for results of tests, but do take heart that these are standard tests done for any lady with a b.c. diagnosis.

You cannot change the results - whatever they maybe. You can only take each day (and test) and whatever treatment is ahead of you, day by day......with courage and strength you already have.

I am a very positive person, and you said normally you are, so I guess what I'm saying is summon up all your courage and face what's ahead of you with strength and a positive attitude.

    Do keep in touch.

    cheers Helen

  • As Sandy says, it's normal to have a CT scan, so don't be worried about it - it is just part of the routine checks. It has been a long time since the 5th October to wait for pathology results - can your GP ring and get them for you? If a mastectomy is necessary, it is do-able and not as painful as you might anticipate - I had a double and couldn't believe how quickly it healed. It is scarey, but each day it gets a little easier, and having a set routine really helps. All the very best, Vicki. Michelle

  • Vicki, hang in there!  They always do a CT scan to check to see if it has travelled further in your body, this is routine stuff so they know what they are dealing with.

I had nodal involvement hence a masectomy. This was pain free compared to the initial lumectomy and nodal excision. I also had chemo, radiation and now hormonal treatment. I am 48 years old. Take each step as it comes, it can be overwhelming to look at the whole thing!

If you need to talk, I can supply you with my phone number via email.
