sad

I am very sad today. We have had to put our lovely little dog to sleep and it was not an easy decision. We tried to do it yesterday and had her in the car on the way to the vets but we couldn't do it. She had another very restless night and didn't want her food again this morning so today was the day. Tuppence was 17 and was the best little friend ever. The vet was wonderful and said that her heart was struggling so it was the right thing to do.

Sorry Tuppence, XXX

  • I may be a dyed-in-the-wool Cat Person but I feel for you. Our pets are there every day for us, and it's a terrible loss when they die. RIP Tuppence, and condolences to you.

  • Our sense of loss when we say goodbye to our faithful and honourable four legged friends is undeniable. I, like you, miss my girl every day. I lost her in May and my home felt so empty. It's funny, empty though it may have been I am beginning to feel her around me. Such a serene and calming influence she has on this home. I'm so thankful that we did share many great years. How lucky are we to have had the Tuppies,Maxes and Keisha's in our lives. Keep the joy in your life and stay well ladies.

  • So sorry to hear about Tuppence Lyn.  I too had to take my 21 year old Chiuhaua X to the vet to put to sleep.  I know how attached we are to them and how upsetting it is when we lose them.  But for all the love and joy we get from them I would go though it all again.  I get just as much joy as seeing a dog with their greying old faces as I do with the younger ones. They are very special indeed.

Hopefully Tuppence has met my Nikki and they are having a ball.

  • Hi Lynn

So sorry to hear you've had to put your lovely dog down. They are part of our lives and families. I really know how you feel as our dog before Max had cancer had chemo and was doing well and then just wasn't strong enough and passed away in his sleep we were devastated and missed him so much how ever time is a wonderful healer and we now have Max and think a lot of Muzzy am sure he and Tuppence could do all sorts of mischief together in doggie heaven.

See you tommorrow for the forum

    Love Sarah x

  • We had already had her a full 12 months longer than the vet said we would have her and that was because of the pill she had twice a week. We were very lucky to have her that extra time. She will be so cold tonight

  • Sorry to hear that - it is not an easy decision.  Just before I was to start chemo we were given three options for our old german shepherd - he has a huge tumour in his tummy.  We chose to put him on drugs and take him home to live out his life peacefully (no pain of course).  I actually thought that he was staying here for me whilst I was on chemo.  I thought that once my chemo was finished that he would pass on.  He is still here 4 months on.  The "miracle" drugs have him as fat as a pig and still as happy as a lark.  However we know the enevitable will happen.  I hope you don't stay too sad for very long.
