results

So today i had my appointment with the surgeon 

and he said that they did find a small amount of positive cells in the surrounding tissue and that he may have to go back in and take some more tissue out but there was no sign of any in the glands which was great news but then 5 minutes later he was handed some more test results and unfortunately those tests came back as there are a few small tumours in the glands so the good news turned a bit sour ..... anyway  the plan is for the team of doctors  to have a meeting and decide weather to take more of my poor little booby (don't know how not much left ) and more glands or just hit me with a big dose of chemo and radiation....... but whatever they decide im prepared ..... so next Thursday i am going back to see the surgeon to make sure  the current wound is healed properly .

so thats where i stand as of now i suppose i am a bit disappointed but it is what it is and im ready for the challenge

    Hey Shaz,  You are doing really well!  I had similar story, surgeon went back in 2nd time to get clear margins, and 2 lymph nodes were positive so they ended up taking 13 out. Its great your surgeon is discussing your case at the meeting, same happened with me, and it just gives you more confidence that you're getting the best possible treatment.     Hey Shaz,  You are doing really well!  I had similar story, surgeon went back in 2nd time to get clear margins, and 2 lymph nodes were positive so they ended up taking 13 out. Its great your surgeon is discussing your case at the meeting, same happened with me, and it just gives you more confidence that you're getting the best possible treatment.     Hi Shaz

    At least with the many heads discussing you they will come up with a plan that suits! They may do everything. There are often 'surprises' around corners as Tonya said and not always what we want to hear! Still lots of options and hoping they get on with whatever you need. Good Luck x

    Sorry to hear your news Shazza but at least now you know. !st time i had it did not have lymph nodes removed just  lump then Chemo and Radiotheraphy. When i had second lot as you know mastectomy  was the only choice did have nodes removed just a few lucky all clear. No probs with arm so far but am very protective of it. No blood test -blood pressure  or injections in that arm and am very wary when pesky mossies are about= But we arm mums and wifes and daughters so we carry on .Not so much brave but want to survive you will fight this and cope with it as you are a brave and caring person. Good luck am with you all the way even tho 12k miles away.xoxox

    Well hun that was a mixed bag of messages eh!!  All i can say is that our thoughts are with you and your family and we send all the support that is possible from so many miles away.  We are here for ya hun and send loadsa lubs and hugs.xxxx

    Hi Shaz,

    You poor darl! This journey has so many corners that you can't see around. It happens  sometimes that they don't get  a clear margin and  then you have to have some more taken. I took a punt and had ALL my lymph nodes removed only to find out that they were ALL clear.That was 7yrs ago and I haven't had any arm probs.I don't regret it cos I got cancer back again in the same breast last year despite having had radiaition.(unlucky 8%).I'm guessing there were no lymph nodes to travel to this time.It was also quicker to recover from just a mastectomy. It would be great to have a crystal ball when faced with these awful choices. I hope the next  few weeks are easier on you.
