  • Hi Deanne
thank you for the tip on calcium and magnesium x
  • Hi Melinda
i know one day crying the next happy never have I had so many emotions until I was diagnosed
I asked the medical oncologist whether ovaries removal was an option as I just didn't understand why I had to be on a tablet for so many years to try and block the estrogen
when they could just take the producer of my estrogen out
she agreed and said it was a good option so out they come
I know it will mean all the joys of menopause but I am ready for that x
  • Pammy!!! Wonderful Wonderful!!!! Its sooooo super early your diagnosis what a relief!!! Yay!!!!! goodness me!!!! Youve so got this and youre going to be OK!  Im also ER+ but been no mention of having to remove my Ovaries however. Hugs Melinda xo
  • Hi Pammy,
Wonderful news that you won't need chemo. I had my ovaries out at 49 due to my bc. It was keyhole surgery and recovery was fast. Cannot even see the tiny scars now!
I have had issues with bone density though due to the lack of estrogen. Something to just be aware of. Weightbearing exercise (I do weights now) and good calcium, Vit D and Vit K levels are important. Also magnesium helps too. Take care. Deanne xxx
  • A lot happening for you. Good news on no need for chemo.
  • Hi Pammy,

A little win for you after the initial shock. I am sure that you are breathing a sigh of relief.

All the best with your treatment and the next steps ...

I also had my ovaries removed at the age of 43 - decided I needed them gone more than I needed them as we too had completed our family (was gently told to not consider having anymore following initial bc diagnosis).
