  • Thanks Leila hope all goes well for you on friday, lm with you quicker we start quicker we finish hugs to you

  • The breast surgeon said all good from surgeon point of view ie the tumour and abnormal tissues are excised.  The oncologist decides the treatment regime based on the pathology of the tumour which could only be determined after it has been cut off and sent for analysis.  So unfortunately it's a step by step process. No one could give you a definite plan right from the start, even though we sometimes want them because it's comforting to know.

I'm currently going through 6 months (only had 2 cycles of AC so far) of chemo after having a lumpectomy, with radiation therapy and hormone therapy to follow.  The best advice I was ever given is putting your trust in your medical team (breast surgeon, oncologist, radiation oncologist) and don't Google because it will just give you unnecessary stress.

  • It is the oncologist who decides the regime not the breast surgeon and the pathology determines the regime. Believe me the 6 months just flys by. I completely understand your frustration though. But you now have a clear plan. Kath x

  • I'm sorry to hear that Cat :( I'm just about to start 5 months of chemo on Friday, and just keep thinking the quicker it starts the quicker it finishes! All the best xx
