Restless legs

I have suffered from restless legs for as long as I remember however high dose practioner magnesium has helped. After 4 rounds of ac and 4th dose of taxol combined with third of herceptin rotten restless legs returned day 5. Really painful and need to shake legs throughout day too. Disrupting my sleep. Had taxol this morning and didn't mention to nurse as I thought it was unrelated. So bad this afternoon that I googled restless legs + chemo and found can be a side effect. I see me oncologist on Wednesday and will ask her about it. I am walking lots and stretching but restless legs continue. Jimmy legs for those of you who are Seinfeld fans. Has anyone else experienced this please and perhaps have some advice? I don't have any tingling in hands or feet. Thank you

  • Yes I had rotten pain with restless legs but thankfully on advice from primek and Mel clarity I started panadol  osteo yesterday and NO pain! Slept straight for twelve hours. So so happy and relieved thank you so very much. Also read that slowing taxol and herceptin may assist so will ask oncologist on Wednesday.
  • If experiencing pain with the restless legs it might help that. I took panadol osteo 2 every 8 hours ...max 6 per day as directed on the box @Lmc1310.  I did find it settled in around 24 to 48 hours.
  • I take Panadol osteo everyday at least once now, I also took it through Taxol, it didnt help my restless legs, it was awful, but thankfully it just stops the minute Taxol is finished. x
  • Thank you for suggestions, @primek I have bought Panadol osteo and I'm wondering now how many you took. About to have first massage post diagnosis and they are happy to massage on chemo but not radio. Enjoy this gorgeous weather we are having everyone and thanks again for taking time to offer solutions. I am very appreciative xo
  • My hubby has had the restless legs thing all his life which is why we have separate beds. He says its almost like the legs are on a different part of the brain orders and work independently to the rest. Exercise can help and he has cut out all caffeine which helps too.
  • Uuuugh YEP I also had restless legs but it was always the day of Taxol that night then it settled down in the following days. I don't suffer usually but Taxol absolutely!!! so once you finish it will stop. x Melinda
  • Thanks so much Primek i will get some Panadol  osteo tomorrow, hopefully it is over the counter. Let's hope my restless legs disappear magically too.
  • I had terribly restlrss legs about 3rd day after taxol and I couldn't stand during some cycles then magically it stopped. I took regular panadol osteo and at times tramadol to deal with the pain that went with it. Do mention it to your team. They may have other suggestions.
