I would LOVE to come but there is NO WAY I could afford it.
I am on a Disability Pension and my Hubby is on a Carers Pension (due to my pre-existing conditions), the costs of my cancer treatments are already squeazing our budget severely (it is not just the direct costs but the other things it throws up, like the cost of hats, medications, travel to and from treatments, medical appointments, scans, higher electricity costs (having to have the heater on longer etc, as I am trapped in bed by fatigue after chemo), grocery costs (I have issues with a lot of foods and no interest in food, so meals cannot be planned ahead as they once were, or we waste too much food), the extra water costs associated (double flushing toilets, more frequent, showing and clothes washing etc), Dentist (cost me a fortune before chemo began, and that was with the discount/ subsidies I qualify for) etc etc etc ). I live in Canberra, so don't qualify for the assistance, but cannot afford, the cost of the $200 registration fee, let alone the cost of getting there and accomodation etc.
So alas I will not be attending, it sounds very interesting though, and hope it is a very successful event for those who can and do attend. I hope those who do attend make a post to let those who couldn't attend know what came up and what it was like etc.
