Our Group has a small collection of used breast prosthesis, padded forms and bras. Does anyone know of a contact so we can send these items on to someone less fortunate. I tried the McGrath Nurse in Darwin but she advised Aboriginal women don't wear bras and obviously have no need for a prosthesis.

Breast forms, preloved. Full or partial silicone prosthesis. Soft forms also. Any size or shape needed.
Bras -Every kind of bra. Mastectomy or not. Any shape or size. Clean, preloved or new.
Bra extenders are also much appreciated.
The Fijian Women’s Breast Cancer Project is an ongoing collection of lightly worn breast prosthesis and bras from generous Australians.
Items are personally given and fitted at no cost to women that have been selected by Fijian Breast Care nurses.
Not for profit. No money exchanges hands.
Done with approval from Fijian Health Department & Fijian Cancer Society.
No close date for donations. 2014,15,16 trips in the past & trips booked for 2017

I sent all the bras off by post to Killara and the prosthesis off to the Victoria branch of Project Uplift. It appears they send off a container load a couple of times a year to Fiji, The Solomons or wherever they feel the need. We had about 50 bras and 9 prosthesis from our Group - that was pretty good and that was without any advertising for recycling - it got them out of my spare bedroom. Good luck!
Just what i wanted to know. I know ladies at support group who suddenly have to change to pocketed bras due to masectomies would love to send their lightly worn unpocket bras somewhere useful. i also know a few ladies who have had reconstruction or who have passed away & alll have given their prothesis to the breast care nurse & last I heard they were still sitting under her desk. i shall let them know & maybe if enough it could be worth a trip to Killara.
I have a heap of old but good bras that no longer fit... and so do some of my friends... looks like it's collection time... I've always thought about it now I'm motivated to do something about it.

Project Uplift contacted me within 3hours of receiving my email. I will be sending the prosthesis to them via a lady in sw Victoria,it will then be sent overseas later this year. They collect bras also, especially larger sizes, they just cant get enough.
