Good evening ladies, after having a bilateral mastectomy with TUG flap reconstruction, the right side flap has necrosis, and is quite disfigured, therefore needs to be surgically removed. I have recently sourced a second opinion, we have discussed the possibility of using the Latissimus dorsi muscle, have any ladies on this forum had this operation? And what outcomes and side effects were experienced? I have had such a bad outcome from my original reconstruction i am very nervous to go thru more surgery. Hi @Cafrini60 ,I am sorry your original surgery didn’t have a good outcome. I think you are a member of choosing breast reconstructions group. If not send a request through and we can join you up. There are quite a few photo stories over there in the announcement from ladies who have had Lat Dorsi reconstructions. It has been a long and very hard year. 😢 I just want to get this all finished so I can concentrate on trying to be some kind of normal again. Thank you again Paula for your help x

Hello all the ladies that have helped me. I have looked at all the sites suggested to me, and have done a lot or reading and googling of other sites.
It has helped me create a list of questions for the plastic surgeon when I next see him.
Given what I have been thru with the last grafting operation is terrifies me to have to go under again, but with
necrosis of most of the right breast I really have no option, at least I will be informed and ready. ;)

I am so pleased that you are feeling OK, and you sound like you have got on with your life.
It makes me feel better reading that you just have to listen to your body, but it seems all in all you can do most things, would I be right in saying that?
I wonder are you happy with the outcome and look of your breast?

@Cafrini60 ,hi, I had a lat dorsi reconstruction in 2015 and sometimes, if I push myself too far I'm in pain for a day or so. Like strong muscle pain. But today I rearranged my garage, so lots of lifting and dragging, and I feel fine. I've even rock climbed! Picking up things at certain angles can hurt so I readjust. Everyday is different 😀

shs14, you know I haven't visited this site for a number of months and have felt quite alone.
You are very lovely to just send me a hug, I really appreciate it.
The past year has been hard, I wont be the last person to experience hiccups, but in saying that I wouldn't wish what I have gone thru on my worst enemy.
