Reconstruction or reduction
Hi ladies,
I have been in chemo for 6 months and had 2 surgeries so far and am about to start radiation...after my surgeries to remove the damaged cells and lymph nodes I find that my breast is missha...
Welcome to this forum. It appears from the previos comments there is lots of advice for you to follow. I would agree that it is important to discuss your options with you oncologist and breast surgeon. You really need to have a referral to a plastic surgeon to get an expert opionion. there are certainly some restrictions in realtion to reconstruction after radiation. So you need to be well informed. I was diagnosed at the end of 2000 and had a tram flap reconstruction at the time of the mastectomy. Although there were some problems with healing at the time. I am more thatn happy with the results. I would recommend this type of reconstruction if it is a possibility. I am more than happy to discuss this with you an time. Take care Love
