yes I will keep coming to this forum.   I am already spun out from the wonderful encouragement I've recieved so far. I read all the replies while in the doctors waiting room and it bought a year to ,yo eye. Made feel I wasn't so alone. Thanks for your kind words Christinem.

Brenda thanks for your input. Good luck with the surgery. It really will go smoothly and mine wasn't scary at all. I can understand feeling terrified though. But remember anticipation is usually worse than the actual event. Jenny

Hello yes it's scarey and the shock is great.  My experience was much the same as yours, I'm 50 6 lympths positive 2 cancer growths.   I was diagnosed June had lumpectomy and node removal dreaded word cancer cells in lympth nodes.  I then had mastectomy and am now half way through chemo to be followed by radio.  I was fit and healthy ( I thought ) one day at a time one treatment at a time helps.  I still walk most days though gym is out for the moment.  I guess the important thing to remember is that chemo and treatment are used to ensure that the cancer cells are killed should they of escaped the nodes and there's a huge success rate.  This is a lovely group of people all going through the same xxx keep your strength and mental attitude up and know you can ask anything here and someone will respond 

Oh honey, it is absolutely ok to be scared. This is something you never expected to be going through. As each appointment goes by, you will get to learn more about bc and believe me, knowledge is power. You will have a whole team of doctors, nurses, physios and technicians who will support you every step along the way. Don't look too far ahead. The only day you have to cope with is today and exercise is a great way to release that stress. It's amazing how endorphins and fresh air can clear your perspective. I am half way through your journey  and have been humbled by how much love and support Iv received. Hoping you find loved ones and friends to share the journey with you. Remember, courage and strength, just for today.

Hi, just take it 1 day at a time, 1 appointment at a time, Honey. Sounds like they've caught it in time, and bc is one of the most treatable cancers. You'll get lots of support and sound advice here from the members and the site team along the way. Keep checking in with us during your treatment. It's so normal to be scared, and it's good that you can voice your concerns on this site. There are so many people on this site who know and understand exactly where you are today. You are one step further than me, I don't have the op for another two weeks and that's a bit that terrifies me. I loathe hospitals and am otherwise healthy like you.

For the rest of the journey I am thinking about doing some medical Tai Chi. Its slow exercises along with good breathing. Dr Paul Lam has dvds. It is supposed to strengthen your muscles, aid with balance, and help your breathing and when the body is strong it follows that the mind will also strengthen.

God knows I need something to take my mind off this bc and a totally new interest which doesn't involve extended walks and running (won't have the energy) might just be a good idea.
