im one week post op from a wide local ocision and removal of 6 lymph nodes one of which contained cancer cells. It was a grade 2 malignant invasive ductal carcinoma 2.5 cm. not sure what the type is ...
Hello yes it's scarey and the shock is great. My experience was much the same as yours, I'm 50 6 lympths positive 2 cancer growths. I was diagnosed June had lumpectomy and node removal dreaded word cancer cells in lympth nodes. I then had mastectomy and am now half way through chemo to be followed by radio. I was fit and healthy ( I thought ) one day at a time one treatment at a time helps. I still walk most days though gym is out for the moment. I guess the important thing to remember is that chemo and treatment are used to ensure that the cancer cells are killed should they of escaped the nodes and there's a huge success rate. This is a lovely group of people all going through the same xxx keep your strength and mental attitude up and know you can ask anything here and someone will respond
