Radiation with Tissue Expanders

I am 6 weeks post double mastectomy with immediate recon with tissue expanders. I have had 550ml in each TE put in and i am healing well.

I am due to start radiation in a week and i am stressed about possible complications, My initial hope was to have a DIEP recon but with circumstances beyond my control, had to do TE

Just wondering what people's experience had been with radiation with TEs?

I am to do 25 sessions of radiation so not looking forward to that either!

    hi there , I have a tissue expander in and am currently on day 18 of radiation and only now I feel I can be on the count down to day 25. The hardest part is the unknown and fear of will I burn or burst my tissue expander. So far my breast looks good with only a little redness in my cleavage and collarbone area and minimal discomfort. I also took a selfie today thinking my new breast is still looking good . 7 more to go and Now feeling confident with the end result . I too plan to have the diep later in the year :) it is not as bad as what I imagined x

    I haven't had to have radiotherapy but knew of 2 that did and had succesful changeover and pleasing results.
