Sorry you've had to join this awful club.
I also had ILC - 2 lumpectomies and node removal.
For me radiation was the thing I was most scared of that turned out to be the easiest. I did 15 sessions over 3 weeks and had no skin breakdown and although my skin went a bit pink (and still is a bit pink 9 months later) I had no pain at all.
The only major impacts for me was fatigue which lasted for about 3 months. If you have the option not to work I'd definitely take the time off. Aside from that just make sure you drink lots of water to help keep your skin hydrated and keep up the moisture - whatever cream you decide to use.
I've found the after effects of the radiation months later harder than the actual treatment (pain, hardness, changed skin sensitivity) but that differs for everyone.
