- Pommy8MemberA week after treatment and no side effects as yet .
One week to go till hormone tablet. - Pommy8MemberI had Mandy at icon.
- DazzleMemberThat's terrific @Pommy8. I will probably start I'm a couple of weeks. I have order Strataxrt from Hope Cancer Care in Wembly WA to assist with skin. I guess it's similar to mepilex. I have Dr Mandy Taylor. She is also at ICON. Take care.
- @Pommy8 you are over the half way mark, well done!
- arpieMemberWell done @Pommy8 - I became quite emotional on my last treatment - they'd become part of my support team ... I hope you can go out & celebrate the end of your 'active treatment' ......
Don't forget to check out the Otis Foundation for (hopefully) a family 'get away' due to the generosity of those opening their holiday homes to those with BC.

take care, & keep those lotions & potions going for at least another 2 weeks. xx - Cath62MemberCongratulations on another step in the treatment @Pommy8. 🏆
- Pommy8MemberAnd that's it all 15 done a big relief to say the least.
Not as bad as I thought so far .x - June1952MemberWell done @Pommy8 - you may not feel as if you are out of the woods yet but you are certainly working your way through the trees and can see the open paddocks beyond.
- Pommy8Member12 out of 15 going ok so far but don't feel I'm out the woods yet.
- arpieMemberDefinitely, as @Cath62 says, the 'cooking' continues even after the treatment stops, so it is very important to continue the lotions & potions - you will continue to feel the 'warmth' at the Rads Site for at least 2 weeks - so better to continue for about 4 weeks ..... if you have skin breakdown, definitely speak with your Breast Care Nurse AND your Rads team so they can assess it & treat it. xx
It's a good idea to also wear 'sun safe tops' for a couple of months so that the sun's rays can't penetrate the top.
Not everyone is offered the Mepilex (I wasn't and had about 24 rad treatments.) I am not sure what the criteria is, to be offered the use of it.
Here are a couple of articles on it (based on Aussies/Kiwis):

All the best. Take care xx
