Definitely, as @Cath62 says, the 'cooking' continues even after the treatment stops, so it is very important to continue the lotions & potions - you will continue to feel the 'warmth' at the Rads Site for at least 2 weeks - so better to continue for about 4 weeks ..... if you have skin breakdown, definitely speak with your Breast Care Nurse AND your Rads team so they can assess it & treat it. xx
It's a good idea to also wear 'sun safe tops' for a couple of months so that the sun's rays can't penetrate the top.
Not everyone is offered the Mepilex (I wasn't and had about 24 rad treatments.) I am not sure what the criteria is, to be offered the use of it.
