Hi Janoit, just google moo goo suppliers. They have a website that lets you know where your nearest supplier is in your area. Moo Goo has about 5 different types of cream. The right one to get is udder cream, it's great and soaks right into your skin. Hope that helps, Trace ????

I found the whole planning radiotherapy Ct scan thing so bizarre. Being the only person half naked in a room, hands locked into stirrups, with people all talking and texts marking, tattooing as well. I have a mastectomy scar so felt a bit self conscious. I tried to lie and meditate and pretend I wasn't really there!! LOL

My radiation oncologist also recommended moogoo. They have a website to buy online and also a list of stockists in your area.  I found some chemists and health food stores stock the brand.

I started my first rads session yesterday. It took a lot less time than the planning session. So that's one down, 24 to go.  

That's so good you're so close to the hospital.  Hope you find something nice for your son's wedding.  Take someone with you to help pick something out.

I think Canberra is a little slower than Adelaide re starting- we only have one hospital that has 4 machines- I thought I would be starting sooner.

yes a friend will take me shopping for a dress- she has been a fantastic support for me since my surgery in August??

I didn't think to take husband in - not sure why- he did feel unwell being present formy third aspiration of a seroma a couple of weeks ago mind??

As son is getting married in Jindabyne I have booked a couple of nights at Rydges on Lake Jindabyne as a treat- it will be mid way through treatment??

Not a lot of advise really- more what to avoid..deodorants, perfume etc where treatment area will be..they seem to recommend Aqueous cream to start plus saline soaks later and then just depends "how the skin reacts"...

Yes, I finished 30 sessions at the end of August.

I felt I was in safe hands. The people and processes were very professional.

I slathered on the recommended moisturiser (Moo Goo) and added some lanolin as well. My skin held up really well (except the hollow under the collar bone peeled a little - probably because I sometimes missed it with the moisturiser).

i just went through exactly the same thing yesterday. Measured,marked, cat scan and tattoo's! I will be having 6 weeks radiotherapy commencing 5th October. I didn't meet the nurses only the techs and my radio oncologist came in to see me as well. I will be asking the nurses all about skin care as that really worries me. I have two small areas on my reconstruction(I have an expander in following mastectomy) that have broken down a little as it was over stretched. The Drs aren't concerned though! I would be interested to know what advice you got?

Janoit, I forgot to say. I asked if my husband could come in while they did the mark up for the CT scan. They were only too happy to have him there except for the 2 min CT scan. It was very reassuring as you feel very vulnerable while you have different ones running in and out doing things to and checking your breast etc. He also got to see what goes on saving me repeating everything. Hi Janoit, I start my radiotherapy on the 6th, week before you. Like you my first child to be married did so 10 days after my surgery. I was lucky I had my dress already picked out before my diagnosis. Not sure I would have felt like it afterwards so hope you have someone to take you and help you out so it's not so tiring. I live 2 3/4 hours away from the radiation centre so I will be bringing lots of things to do while I stay in Adelaide at the Cancer Council Lodge. Good luck and keep in touch. Maria
