My journey so far...
I had my surgery on Thurs 31/3. The day took so long. I have recurring bursitis in my right shoulder and limited mobility in it, so having it held above my head for nearly 2 hr...
Hello Jacqui
I am just a year ahead of you having had my first breast cancer excision on 3 March 2015. ( and then the 2nd on 10 March 2015 which was a bit shattering!) Like you I suffered badly with a really painful shoulder and ended up with a frozen shoulder - even though I was diligent with the exercises. Thank goodness for the front opening bra from Berlei! Eventually though I ditched the bra entirely but found it essential for support in the early months. I saw some professionals, physiotherapists etc until a physiotherapist friend told me that no matter what exercises and torture I put myself through the shoulder would take 12 to 18 months to put itself right. I stopped worrying about it there and then! That's not to say it did not remain painful and frustrating. However 13 months later I have 'almost' full movement and it is no longer painful. So hang in there! Kind regards, Jenny
