Speaking after DIEP+double mastectomy, my breast surgeon has said that the issue is keeping any scars as moisturised and flat as possible - silicon strips 24*7 as long as you can take it (over scar gel, she says even now at 12mths there may be incremental improvement for another 12mths), compression on scars from compression top/worn with mobiderm if fluid collects - I also swear by the scar massage I had a few times to improve adhesions/flexibility/flatness of scar and helped with nerve damage. Likewise the use of self massage daily for several months (search for oncology scar massage online if cost an issue or access to one) with or without silicon suction cup (but be gentle with moisturiser if with) greatly healed my lumpy subcutaneous scarring after a hematoma. Good luck and biggest thing is to keep it up and work wider around the scar than you think as it's all interconnected deeper than you might think - hope you got some other good advice on the other forum too
