Positive Thinking (and a lot of drugs) a powerful combination

I visited the Oncologist for my latest visit and it was indeed a surprise.

Vit D - after starting back in November at 16 I am up at 68 - I get to drop my D to 1000IU per day

I have to remember that the number is just an "indicator" and the PET will tell us the truth.. so with that in mind drum roll............ blood test with the ever popular CA15-3......looking for 39 or below..... and I got 30 !!!! apparently that is just like "normal" people :)..

No tests til August when I do a PET and a Blood test to see if the BC has totally moved out of the apartment complex.. and depending on its status, then and only then we will choose what, if any, more treatment to undertake.

My stiffness and hand pain was concerning her and so we are trying a 5mg pain patch.. so fingers crossed they help.. She had told me that to start me on the Arimadex right now would stop my movement all together and I am in a good enough place to let it go for a few months..

All other "issues" underway are all directly related to my treatment  and some will never leave me but I am learning how to work with them. Slowly but surely.

So I am doing a slow and steady penguin happy dance right now..  because every bit of good news is to be celebrated and enjoyed.

So this is how I am running at the moment..  I am currently in Stage 2 and in August Stage 2a

S 1 -   Finding the cancer
S 2 -   Kicking it's butt out of the complex
S 2a - Checking to see if it has gone - if gone move directly to S 3 - if still present move to  S 2b
S 2b - Ascertain how many friends of BC are still in the complex and return to S 2 until they are all gone

S 3 -   making sure it is really really gone and change the locks so it is really really hard for it to get back in :)

I know that the nature of Secondary Cancer is not a clear path but I totally beleive I can get this sorted and if indeed it keeps coming back to annoy me then I will keep fighting and kicking and screaming - in a calm, relaxed and positive fashiion of course LOL  I know that this is the toughest fight of my life and I am seriously aware of it.. Each person and set of circumstances is different and that gives me hope. If cancer wants me then it will have to fight so damn hard to get me because I refuse to give in..  Not an inch, not one single one will be given away.

  • Hey Sharon, I love your Pink 66 post name.

I love reading your posts, they are so inspiring, so alive, so full of get up and go which I know there are days that you don't have any, just like the rest of us.

I have just been thru 4 months of hell following the 12 months of hello which was treatment.  I have been waiting and willing for a really good outcome and it has arrived but it has been tough but I am there now and will only look fowards.  Onwards and upwards is my new motto.  I started at Curves today.  Bet you wish you were a fly on the wall with a video camera to be able to send it in to funniest home videos but you are out of luck cause it aint gunna happen cause I am going to get thru tomorrow and the next and the next all by myself.  I am so excited to be back in the head space once again where I just wanna get out there and exercise, lose weight and feel good about myself.

I am wishing you all S2 and S3.  I am going to bed tonight and I aint counting sheep I am going to be wishing S2/S3 for my precious pink sister Pink66 (alias Sharon).

Good luck kiddo, my thoughts are with you.

Lots of love always, Mich xoxoxoxo

  • Hi Pink66, I have just read all your blogs as I have only just myself been diagnosed with BC & still awaiting results of all tests but am hopeful that has only gone as far as my lymph nodes. After reading your stories I am so inspired to be a fighter & a survivor just like you no matter what is placed in my path/journey along the way. I want to have your strength & positiveness as it is the best. I have been feeling awfully teary since my appointment at Peter Mac today as I think it has all become so real, but reading your blogs has given me renewed strength & hope. Thank you from the bottom of my heart xx
