Phyllodes tumours have returned!

Hey everyone, i am looking for some advice.

6 months ago i had 6 benign phyllodes tumours removed, plus 6 fibroadenomas. I was told it is very unusual for them to return. 

About two weeks ago i found another lump. I had an ultrasound and the technician confirmed i have three lumps and they all look like phyllodes tumours. I have an appointment in two days with my breast surgeon. I know she's going to say i have two options:

1: Have the lumps removed again and the surrounding tissue removed.

2: A double mastectomy.

I dont know what to do! I'm 24 years old and i know a mastectomy is a huge decision for a benign tumour but i dont want to go through this anymore. It's so scary and emotionally draining. I just want to get on with my life and not have to worry about this anymore. But the idea of having a mastectomy scares me as well. It's such a big operation and ive heard things can go wrong such as skin dying and chronic pain.. has anyone experienced this? 

My other question is.. if they remove the surrounding tissue (which they will need to remove alot of because ive had so many) will my breast look deformed? 

I really dont know what to do and would love any advice i can get :)

    I would be asking more questions of the surgeon. They would be in the best position to advise you of the outcomes possible in your situation. You are right in thinking that a mastectomy is a major step to take but I can understand your concerns about what your breasts will look like after these latest tumors  are removed. A mastectomy with immediate reconstruction might be an option to explore. Ask lots of questions until you are confident to make a decision. It is your body so you need to feel good about this.     What a decision and at such a young age.  I personally have never heard of Phylloyde tumours.  When I was 17 I had a benign lump removed from my breast.  I can remember it so well.  I was a skinny little innocent thing and when the surgeon saw my small breasts he said "there will be nothing left once I remove this lump"  What a terrible thing to say to anyone let alone someone so young.  Here I am 57 and with maturity my breasts are okay even with all the bc lumpetomy surgery that I have had since 2006.  I hope that you can gain some information from this forum - sorry that I can't assist.  Best wishes  to you XLeonie
