Peripheral Neuropathy
Hi All,
I have started this new thread because I am worried.
I am 2 months out of chemo (Dose Dense 4xAC 4xPaclitaxol) and the neuropathy in my feet is getting worse. From the balls of my feet to my toes - feel like blocks of wood!
When I sleep, I sleep o n my side with my hands under the pillow. Recently (in the last week) I have been waking up wth pins and needles in my hands and fingers. When I put my hands down by my sides it goes away, but I naturally put my hands back there again and yep, more pins and needles. Do not notice anything during the day in my hands.
By the end of the day my feet are REALLY sore, red, swollen etc. All my oncologist said (on last meeting a few weeks back) was to moisturise. I haven't been doing it twice a day like she said to, so I will increase that, but any other tips? Should I be worried that it seems to be getting worse rather than better?

- PatsyNMember@Joannie - My reconstruction surgeon was wearing a black suit.
It appeared to be a size 12 boys suit, so small was the jacket, with what must have been an oversize singlet underneath and battling to get free from the jacket.
But the three quarter length pants clinging to his calves told me this was a look straight off a Milan catwalk.
His waiting room has only high end bi-annual men's fashion magazines selling super yachts and villas in Provence.
I'm sorry - a little off topic... - AnonymousNot applicableThe user and all related content has been deleted.

- PatsyNMember@JJ70 I love photos. What pretty feet. I've just kicked off my gumboots.
My re-con surgeon wore patent leather Gucci slippers with toe cleavage at our last confab, true! - PatsyNMember@JJ70 It has some funny impacts like tonite when I handed over a note to pay for something. Often I drop it before they've taken it so I've taken to hanging on tight, but the poor lady couldn't get it out of my hands and I was of course distracted by something else due to my chemo brain, always floating away...
- JJ70MemberDown at our shed getaway 3hrs south of Perth. Feet won't warm up even in uggies so I'm gonna cook 'em with my marshmallows!
- SisterMemberI asked the Registrar last week about alpha lipoic acid and she didn't seem to think much of it. I asked my onc this week and his response was slightly different. He said that there haven't been any studies to support it but he is aware that some people feel it makes a difference. He related it to other complimentary medicines (such as acupuncture) that he believes probably do work but only on some, so they can't be recommended as a treatment. His answer was "by all means try it if you want to". No contraindications at this point in my treatment (almost at the end of taxol).
