Peripheral Neuropathy

Hi, I'm am a newbie to the sight and am 4 months post treatment and developed peripheral neuropathy last October so chemo treatment was ceased. I was started on Lyrica for the pain but am finding my feet, particularly my toes, are feeling cold all the time. Has anyone got any solutions to this. Cheers Julie

  • I am now on Tamoxifen and my toes go bright red when I go walking. A couple of toe nails now grow in a raised V which makes them hurt if I don't diligently keep them trimmed on the edges. Sometimes my feet go cold for no real good reason and I usually feel I need to hit the bed for a bit. Mine could be a circulation problem but its intermittent and doesn't last. Keep your slippers handy and even get a back up pair too.
  • Hi Julie65 - seems you are doing well with Lyrica. I had some unwelcome side effects which included feeling 'high' and acute short term memory loss. I don't want to alarm you, we are all unique in our reactions, hope it continues to ease your pain.
  • Hi @Jules65-sorry to hear you are having this. I developed neuropathy after my first treatment of Paklitekal  --I was changed to Xeloda and it has decreased. I find regular massage or reflexology good. Also I find the more I can walk the better -seems to get the blood moving so good if you can. All the best
